The decedent may bequeath some specific assets and rights to anyperson of his choice. These assets are set apart, and will not be divided among the inheritors.
The decedent can only grant a legacy under a will, where it shall be expressly provided.
Lagacies may not be made in prejudice of mandatory heirs; otherwise their amount shall be reduced.
A legacy can be repudiated by its beneficiary.
